Welcome to HEAUB

High energy astrophysics consists on the study of the highly energetic processes that take place in astrophysical sources, which allows to gain knowledge on their powering engines. 

The general aim of the HEAUB group is to achieve a better understanding of the high-energy astrophysical sources, gathering data over a large wavelength range (from radio to TeV energies) as well as modeling emission processes in different scenarios (jets, shocks, interaction with the interstellar medium, etc.). 

In particular we follow three approaches to conduct research in high-energy astrophysics:

  • Observational, by studying relativistic jets, active galaxies, black holes and X-ray binaries
  • Theoretical, on high-energy emission from relativistic outflows
  • Instrumental, by developing instrumentation for high energy physics and astrophysics
