The group Gaia at the Department of Astronomy and Meteorology, University of Barcelona, Institute of Cosmos Sciences, Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia announces TWO summer grants from July to September for astrophysics research.
The scholarships are aimed at students in the final year of the degree in Physics or double degree in Physics-Mathematics, who have completed the course Observational Astronomy or can demonstrate an equivalent knowledge.
During the period of the grant, they will develop a research project related to the research topics of the group. The group is involved in the Gaia space mission that aims to measure positions, motions, parallax and physical properties of billions of stars in our Galaxy. Gaia was launched in December 2013 and is currently on the operational phase that will last five years. The projects to be developed during the summer are related to the preparation of the scientific exploitation of the Gaia data.
- Monthly salary: 700 euros gross.
